Is there a shop at Coolendel?
Yes. We have a kiosk at the office which sells basic food and camping supplies such as ice, bread, milk, firewood, gas, and chocolate of course!
Can we drink the tap water?
Yes. The water at Coolendel is drinkable.
Does Coolendel have bathroom facilities?
Yes. Our amenities blocks have flush toilets and hot showers. All our facilities are deep-cleaned frequently.
Can we have an open campfire?
Yes. Campfires are allowed, except during a Total Fire Ban. Coolendel sells firewood…and marshmallows!
Do you have powered campsites?
No we do not have powered campsites, but there are plenty of open spaces suitable for your solar powered vans and trailers. We can also provide power at the office and utility buildings for special requirements and emergencies.
Do we need to make a booking for camping or glamping?
Yes please. You can book here or alternatively phone Coolendel on 1800 001 080.
Can we reserve a campsite?
No we do not have designated campsites. Coolendel is a ‘free range’ campsite with 130 acres of space.
Can we bring our dog?
Sorry, but no pets! Coolendel is a nature reserve with an abundance of native wildlife and we don’t want to scare them away.
Is there mobile phone reception?
There is no mobile reception at Coolendel. There is a phone at reception that is free for domestic and mobile calls. You can also get mobile range a few minutes drive from the site. Our public phone is a free call phone to mobiles and Australian numbers.
Are there noise restrictions?
Coolendel is all about sharing fun times with family and friends. But some people also like to sleep, so we ask to keep the noise to a minimum after 10.30pm.
Do I need a 4WD to get to Coolendel?
No. The last 11 kms is dirt road and very well maintained. The road can be driven in any motor vehicle.
Can we feed the animals?
Please don’t feed any of the native animals at Coolendel. Especially the goannas as it can encourage them to be aggressive.
Coolendel has a zero tolerance policy to any cruelty of animals.
